Everyone Dermot met while we visited my family brought him a gift. This one is from my friend Adlin and her brand-new fiance Jose.
Here's Dermot getting his gift from Uncle Kevin as Grandma looks on.
Dermot just loved my parents' dog Lacey. She didn't run away as quickly as our cats do. The day after we came home, he pointed to the garage door and barked. We asked him if he wanted to go see Lacey, and he said "yes".

Merry Christmas!
We video-taped most of the Christmas excitement, so I do not have many pictures to post on this site. Here is vacuum boy trying to clean up after all of the paper was ripped off of the gifts.

Since Dermot wasn't feeling well, we let him open two gifts that we had bought him on Christmas Eve. Ethan also got to open his gifts from me because Ethan does not like to wait for surprises. Actually, Dermot got to open Ethan's gifts since he so thoroughly enjoyed the gift opening.
Dermot's favorite gift from Christmas Eve was the Swiffer vacuum that I bought Ethan.
Dermot also liked the other Swiffer gift that I bought Ethan.

Here are a few of our failed attempts at getting a Christmas picture of Dermot. Notice the elf-like outfit. I was going for a Little Drummer Boy theme here, but it just didn't happen.
Dermot decided to try on my slippers. He thought that walking in them was great fun.
So cute, but not really right for a holiday card; especially with me in the background.
Dermot and Ethan were having a blast just rocking back and forth really fast. Actually, I think that Ethan eventually got tired and dizzy, but nothing ever stops Dermot's good time.

Dermot has decided that this pillow is where he should eat his crackers. We try to encourage him to eat all of his food in the kitchen, but every once in a while he's allowed to eat a snack in the living room, and he has decided that the only appropriate place for that is this big pillow.

New outfit and new shoes. He's really getting too old and too mobile for these one piece outfits, but they are so cute. If the snaps in the legs would just stay shut.

This is how Dermot "directs" us. He was most likely pointing either to the TV or to some other toy that needed our assistance.
He looks really angry here, but he's just bouncing up and down on a ball while ringing his jingle bell. He gets so excited when he's doing this.

I finally got a picture of Dermot sleeping. Actually Ethan took it, but Dermot didn't wake up which was my biggest concern.

We turned around the other day after dinner and Dermot had taken his own shirt off. He was really proud of himself.
Here is Dermot sitting on one of our coolers while Daddy puts his shoes on. This kid will sit or climb on anything.
